Lady Gaga is looking stunning in winter wear as Patrizia Reggiani, in the upcoming biopic House of Gucci.
Lady Gaga shared the first official image of her and co-star Adam Driver as Reggiani and Gucci in beautiful vintage Italian fashion, standing in front of snow-covered mountains. "Signore e Signora Gucci #HouseOfGucci," she captioned the image. Regianni is the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci who was was convicted of his assassination in 1995.
This will be Gaga's second starring role in a film. In 2019 she won an Oscar for her song "Shallow" from A Star Is Born and was nominated for Best Actress for her role in the movie. With its cast and crew and story, this film looks like it could get similar awards recognition.
House of Gucci is being directed by Ridley Scott, the director of Blade Runner, Alien, and Gladiator, and features a script written by Robert Bentivegna, based on Sara Gay Forden's book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour and Greed.
Reggiani married Maurizio Gucci, the grandson of Gucci founder Guccio Gucci, in 1973 and the two quickly became one of Italy's most famous power couples. In 1994, Gucci left her for another woman and the couple divorced. The next year, Gucci was shot multiple times by a hitman and killed.
Reggiani was convicted of his murder in 1998 after a highly publicized trial, and ended up serving 18 years in prison, where she earned the nickname Black Widow.
Gaga has been in Italy filming the movie, and was there when two of her dogs were stolen after her dog walker was shot four times last month. Ryan Fischer, the dog walker, was shot while walking Gaga's three dogs on the night of Wednesday, February 24. An unidentified man took off with two of the dogs.
A few days later, the dogs were returned when a good Samaritan found them tied to a pole and recognized them from the news. Fischer is recovering and the dogs were unharmed.
House of Guccialso stars Al Pacino, Jared Leto, and Jeremy Irons, and is expected to hit theaters on November 24, 2021.
