Here's 'Drag Race UK' Season 4's Top 4 — and Who Should Win
Fourth season, innit?!
Yes, we are already four seasons into RuPaul's Drag Race UK, arguably the most established iteration of the franchise outside of the United States. After crowning names The Vivienne, Lawrence Cheney, and Krystal Versace, Ru and Michelle went back over the pond to discover the next bright face. And discover they did.
As always, the season had its twists and turns -- *cough* Baby leaving voluntarily *cough* -- but was a hell of a showing of British drag. But with the final four announced, it's time to pick one (and for the purposes of this, just one) as the U.K.'s Next Drag Superstar.
4. Black Peppa
Let's be clear: everybody loves a bit of Black Peppa. The looks are always amazing, and so is the performance ability when it comes to lip syncs. Black Peppa has delivered for audiences on the Main Stage runway week after week, and when she wasn't able to knock the Maxi Challenge out of the park (being intentionally funny or embodying a character through lines wasn't always her strong suit) she always redeemed herself with a star-turning battle for her spot.
Still, lovable though she may be, in the end she lands in our fourth place spot.
3. Jonbers Blonde
Our queen from Belfast can do a little bit of everything. She can turn a look when she needs to -- her chic and understated frothy mint number was called one of the greatest of all time by Ru -- and even bring on the laughs. But sadly, whether you blame it on her USP or something else, she was never able to actually win a challenge. And in this season's pack of queens, that's going to put you squarely in third place.
2. Cheddar Gorgeous
Cheddar Gorgeous is different and that's perfect for us. Her otherwordly-informed aesthetic, high-brow point of view, and message-oriented approach to drag set her in a league of her own. In fact, in any other season, four wins might seem like a shoo-in for a "projected to win" slot. But this isn't any other season. While we certainly wouldn't be surprised to see the Manchester queen take it home, we have our money on another bet.
1. Danny Beard
Anyone headed to Liverpool?!
Since the beginning of the season, Danny Beard has exuded the type of confidence that has no doubt occasionally felt like cockiness. But if we're being frank, that's sort of necessary in a crazy competition like Drag Race, especially when you have the talent to back it up -- and Danny has talent in spades. When we talk about Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, AND Talent... ladies and gentlemen: Danny Beard.
Long may she reign!
