Here Are All the 'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 12 Queens
Well, we're back, back, back again! After some speculation by fans that the seasons were being held hostage, or that RuPaul's Celebrity Drag Race would be the first out the gate, RuPaul's Drag Race is ready to return to screens. And, with a whole new cast of queens of course.
Today, Ru announced the show's customary 13 contestants for the 12th season of Drag Race. They are certainly varied with quite a number of contestants out of New York City and Los Angeles, as well as others hailing from places like North Carolina. Eagle-eyed drag fans will notice that some of the names for contestants on the show have been tweaked: Brita Filter is going by the mononym Brita while Jan Sport is going by just Jan. That's likely do with copyright and trakemark permissions.
That said, you likely know both of those queens well as they've built up pretty solid fanbases. Both, for example, appeared on an episode of Broad City with Drag Race alum Sasha Velour, Shangela and Jiggly Caliente. Brita also appeared on a Saturday Night Live episode as well. And Jan is one third of the popular live singing drag troup Stephanie's Child.
But, they aren't the most-followed of the group. That honor goes to Miss Dahlia Sin. With almost 60,000 Instagram followers, she certainly is already established. Better still: she comes from the House of Aja. Yeah, that Aja!
Can't wait to see how this turns out.
The new season of RuPaul's Drag Race debuts February 28.
