Some of Hollywood's brightest LGBTQ+ stars are coming out to celebrate and support Tommy Dorfman following her coming out as a trans woman -- and we love to see it!
Dorfman, who starred on Netflix's popular, controversial teen drama series 13 Reasons Why, publicly discussed her transition for the first time in a new interview with Time Magazine. She said that "for over a year now, I have been privately identifying and living as a woman -- a trans woman."
She continued, saying, "It's funny to think about coming out, because I haven't gone anywhere. I view today as a reintroduction to me as a woman, having made a transition medically. Coming out is always viewed as this grand reveal, but I was never not out."
Now, other LGBTQ+ celebs are offering their support and love. People got the scoop on which celebs celebrated the news on their Instagram stories.
"I AM SO PROUD OF YOU @tommy.dorfman. Thank you for being YOU, for sharing this," The Crown's Emma Corrin said in her stories. "We see you, we love you." Corrin themself recently came out as queer and said that they prefer she/they pronouns and she sometimes wears a binder.
Pose star MJ Rodriguez, the first out trans woman to be nominated for a Best Actress Emmy, also posted her love for Tommy, as did singer and actor Demi Lovato, who recently came out as nonbinary. "I don't know you but I'm proud of you," Demi wrote. The L Word: Generation Q star Jamie Clayton also shared a picture of Dorfman with the word "Stunner" written over it.
Dorfman thanked the others for supporting her in her own Instagram stories, where she posted a selfie along with the words, "speechless. I love you all. Thank you so much."
This is the type of community support we love to see! Let's go trans people!
